PATIALA: Police booked three travel agents for allegedly cheating four
Patiala residents and sending them to Europe by using illegal means. The victims were allegedly detained by Georgia police while crossing the road without valid documents. They were trying to reach Europe in search of employment.
Police said the accused, who are brothers, were running an immigration office in Patiala.
The case was registered on the complaint of Rakesh Sharma from a village in Patiala, Munish Kumar of Ambala, Palwinder Singh and Abhninder Singh of a village in Bhadson block, Patiala.
Travel agents Gursewak Singh, Karanvir Singh and Manpreet Singh have been booked , criminal conspiracy and Section 13 of the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012.
