Woman, 19, kills herself in Patiala

PATIALA: Civil Lines police have booked a man under various sections of abetment to suicide after a allegedly woman killed herself by consuming some poisonous substance.
A case has been registered on the complaint of a resident of Shambu block in Patiala.He told cops that his daughter was married to Maninder Kumar, the accused, in February. Later, she came to know the accused was already married and had two children.
The victim is Navjeet Kaur, 19, a resident of Shambu block of the district. The complainant of the case is also the mother of the deceased. "The accused married the girl, but did not disclose her about his divorce. However, later she came to know the truth. On March 22, the accused informed Navjeet's family that she was not well and was hospitalised, however, when they reached the hospital, they found her dead. Postmortem has been conducted and the reports are still awaited. We have arrested the accused under section of abetment to suicide and initiated further probe into the matter," said station house officer of Civil Lines police station.
