Mumbai: 72K NCC cadets take part in Fit India Movement
The cadets of the Maharashtra NCC, reached out at the general public through available social media platforms to spread awareness
MUMBAI: Over 72,000 cadets took part in ‘Fit India Movement’. A cumulative run of 2,20,000 kms was done by the cadets to spread awareness in the society.
NCC Directorate Maharashtra, under the aegis of DG NCC had taken the lead in one month online awareness campaign for ‘Fit India Movement’, which commenced on 15 August 2020 and culminated on 14 September 2020.
The cadets of the Maharashtra NCC, reached out at the general public through available social media platforms to spread awareness and themselves actively involved in carrying out physical activities like yoga, cycling, running etc following protocols of Covid-19.

Fit India Movement was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on August 15, to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. “This is a continuous process and has gained importance especially during the prevailing situation due to Covid-19 pandemic. Awareness for the same is required to be spread amongst the general public,” said the defence spokesperson.
