Jharkhand BJP prez, Babulal in Dumka for bypoll prep
Dumka: As a part of its preparations for the impending Dumka assembly by-poll, BJP’s state unit president Deepak Prakash and party leader Babulal Marandi reached Dumka on Wednesday and took stock of the preparedness of the five mandals.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Marandi said the Dumka polls will mark the beginning of the coalition government’s ouster from power.
He also criticised the Hemant Soren government for the rising crime graph and claimed that the latter is more interested in filling the party’s coffers.
“The continuous transfer-postings coupled with rampant exploitation and transportation of minerals under the patronage of respective district administrations suggest that the government’s sole mission is to plunder Jharkhand’s resources,” he claimed.
“On one hand the state government has closed all sources of revenue generation by engaging their own men in plundering mineral resources on the other hand, it is not utilising the thousands of crores of rupees deposited in the banks,” Marandi said.
In reply to a question on the tweet of JMM’s Jama MLA against alleged indulgence of Dumka deputy commissioner Rajeshwari B in the ongoing illegal mining of stone chips and sand, Marandi said, “The JMM MLA, who also happens to be the sister in-law of the chief minister, did not have the guts to directly accuse the CM and made the deputy commissioner her target.”
Meanwhile, Prakash said on the behest of the Hemant, assembly speaker Rabindranath Mahto is not recognising Marandi as the leader of opposition. “All Constitutional institutions, including the election commission, have accorded their nod for Marandi ji’s candidature for the post of leader of opposition in the assembly, but the speaker, owing to his allegiance to Hemant Soren, is reluctant to fulfil his official obligation,” Prakash claimed.
