LDF to protest against Union Budget

Thiruvananthapuram: To protest the gross neglect of the state in the Union Budget, the LDF will organize protest marches to central government offices in all assembly constituencies on February 18. A protest gathering will be held after the march in front of one office each in all constituencies. “The protest in 140 locations will be a part of a nationwide campaign announced by Left parties from February 12 to 18,” said LDF convener A Vijayaraghavan.
The campaign has been called by the Left to register its concerns about the budget that will only help weaken the agriculture sector and worsen unemployment. “The budget that focusses on selling off public sector enterprises like LIC has totally neglected the state. Not a single project submitted by the state was included in the budget,” said Vijayaraghavan. tnn
