TDB suspends senior official

Thiruvananthapuram: Travancore Devaswom Board on Monday suspended a senior official for alleged financial misappropriation. TDB president N Vasu ordered the suspension of assistant Devaswom commissioner J V Babu who had been the special officer at Pamba during the Mandala season.
A statement by N Vasu said the suspension followed the complaint that Babu tried to steal money from the open hundi at Pamba Ganapathy temple.The board ordered a detailed probe into the incident. The TDB meeting also decided to inform the Pathanamthitta SP of the crime and request for a criminal case be registered against Babu. He was working as assistant commissioner in Ulloor group. tnn
