PATIALA: Despite the orders of the state government to shut down the educational institutions and schools a private school in Ropar was found operational and it also got conducted exams of elementary school children direct under the nose of district administration.
The school authorities, when queried, said that parents of their wards did not get convinced over the closure of institutions announced by the state government.
They also got conducted the exam of school children maintaining that it was their last exam.
Neelam, the school principal of Model Middle School at College Road in Ropar city said that we are requesting and turning away the parents of children. She said that the parents were either ignorant or not believing the news and thus reaching the school with a request to get the exams of their children conducted. She said that the school authorities were worried about the health of children and taking all the precautions.
SDM Ropar Harjot Kaur, said, "The matter came to our knowledge following which the Deputy Commissioner had written to District Education Officer to serve a show-cause-notice to the school authorities. Action will be taken against all those defying the government orders. A case will be registered against the authorities if any school found operational from onwards in the district."
