CISF takes over security of Srinagar airport, Jammu in first week of March
NEW DELHI: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) took over the security of Srinagar Airport on Wednesday. It will take over Jammu airport in the first week of March and then Leh. These three airports have been under J&K Police and CRPF. The change took place under CISF airport sector special D G M A Ganapathy.
The Srinagar Airport unit will be headed by a senior commandant rank officer. Srinagar airport director Santosh Dhoke handed over a key replica to the commandant Srinagar airport Amandeep Singh Dhaliwal as symbol of handing over of security to CISF.

Ganapathy emphasized that coordinated efforts will be made by all government agencies and stakeholders to ensure security of Srinagar airport. With induction at Srinagar, total airports under CISF security cover has risen to 62.
