Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Rajouri
JAMMU: Pakistan breached the truce along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday afternoon.
“Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation around 3.50pm by firing with small arms and shelling mortars along the LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. The Indian Army retaliated befittingly,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Pakistan had breached the truce along the LoC in Nowshera.
On Friday night, a similar ceasefire violation was reported in Degwar sector of Poonch. There has been a spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC in the twin frontier districts of Rajouri and Poonch following the nullification of Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019.
