Mangaluru, Apr 30: Valentine D'Souza, serving as deputy superintendent of police (DySP) at Bhatkal, has been posted to Bantwal sub-division as DySP.

D'Souza, who began his service in the police department as a sub-inspector in 1994, served the rural police station here after completion of the probationary period. He was posted to Honnavar and Bhatkal early in his career and then worked at Udupi, Bantwal, DCRB Chikkamagaluru, Kundapur, Panambur, Karkala and CCB Mangaluru. During these postings, D'Souza came to be identified as a people-friendly and a sincere officer.

During his term at Panambur, he had kept Naxals under control through combing operations and was successful in charging a number of miscreants who tried to foment communal tensions.

Valentine has now been posted to Bantwal sub-division where he will be discharging duties until further orders.
