Udupi: 'We are God's children' WhatsApp group celebrates its fifth anniversary

Udupi, Sep 6: 'We are God's children' a WhatsApp group commemorated its fifth anniversary. On this occasion, the members of the group handed over a newly constructed house to Nagaraj, Vinoda family, who lost their house in floods. 
 
Louis D'Souza of Neelavara donated seven cents and house build under government's 'Ashraya Housing Scheme'. About Rs 1.2 lac is provided under the scheme. The remaining amount was collected by the WhatsApp group and donors. 
 
Fr Lawrence David Crasta, parish priest of Anthony Orthodox Syrian Ammunje presided over the programme. 
 




 
Harish, secretary, Neelavar gram panchayat, Prakash D'Souza, Bonifas Mascarenhas businessman, Julian Mascarenhas a donor were present on the occasion.
 
The admins of the WhatsApp groupMaxim Mascarenhas, Ronald Noronha, Valerian Crasta, and Meena D'Souza were instrumental in getting donations from group members and completing the construction of the house.
 
One of the admins, Maxim worked hard towards seeking donations.
 
Marlin D'Souza welcomed the gathering, Smitha Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks. 
 
Valerian Crasta compered the programme.
