    Acme Solar scouts for buyer to sell 1200-MW power purchase agreements (PPAs)

    Synopsis

    ​​Lack of liquidity and delay in commissioning projects are forcing many of the clean energy producers to sell or surrender PPAs signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI).

    Mumbai: Acme Solar Holdings Ltd, leading solar power producer in India, plans to sell its power purchase agreements (PPAs) worth 1200 MW, said multiple people aware of the development. Acme, which had sold 400 MW assets to private equity fund Actis recently, has hired UK-based investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald to find a buyer. Infrastructure-focused institutions such as Brookfield, Actis and O2 Power have been approached by Acme for the PPAs,
