    Covid impact: Global in-house centres revive their hiring plans

    Some cos are increasing headcount faster than their forecast initial estimates.

    GICs have grown at about 8-10% annually over the last few years, according to management consultancy firm Zinnov. There are about 1,350 GICs in India with a total employee base of 1.2 million at present.

    Pune: Global in-house centres (GICs), or captive units, of most multinational firms are going ahead with their pre-Covid-19 hiring plans in India after a brief lull in the first few months of the pandemic, according to leading recruitment firms.These companies are expected to hire as projected at the start of the year except for those in sectors like travel and hospitality which have been severely impacted by the pandemic.
