NEW DELHI: Time and again, India Inc bosses have admired the unique innovations displayed by the people of the country.
This time, the talk of the corporate world is a man who has completely transformed his auto-rickshaw. Calling his ride 'Mumbai's First Home System Auto-Rickshaw', the vehicle is inspired by India's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The auto has two bins installed inside for wet and dry waste. Travellers can use the wash basin for hand wash, and also get fresh drinking water.

The other arrangements in the auto include smartphone charging, cooler/fan, mobile connect TV, and availability to play music with Bluetooth.

The vehicle offers free one-kilometre ride to senior citizens and free rides to newly-married couples. Moreover, the auto driver will also share advice about fitness on demand. On two sides of the auto-rickshaw, details about the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) COVID-19 Helpline are listed in English and Marathi.

The auto also has a message thanking the corona frontliners like doctors, Mumbai Police, nurses, BMC staff, housekeeping workers, labourers and ambulance drivers on the back.

The auto driver earned a lot of praise and appreciation from Anand Mahindra and Harsh Mariwala.

Alongside this one-minute-long video, the Mahindra Group Chairman took to Twitter on Friday to say that Covid had brought one silver lining, which is the dramatic acceleration in creation of a Swachh Bharat.

Meanwhile, the Marico Chairman lauded the driver for transforming the ride with all his heart. "... this man has installed a basin to ensure hygiene standards are maintained. The waste water even goes into some plants he's growing," he pointed out.
