Sushant S Rajput death: ED summons Rhea Chakraborty on Friday, agency looking at costly, real-estate purchases in Mumbai done by her

NEW DELHI: Just hours after the Central Bureau of Investigation got the go-ahead to probe the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Rhea Chakraborty to appear before the agency on Friday.
Last week, the central agency had registered a case under the Personal Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for what it called "suspicious transactions."

Times Now reports that the ED is also looking at two high-end property purchases that Chakraborty , who was in a relationship with Rajput, had made in the recent past.

Earlier today, the apex court has directed the states of Maharashtra and Bihar, and Rajput's father, K K Singh, to file replies on Chakraborty's plea. In her plea, she had sought the transfer of an FIR lodged in Patna by Rajput's father who had accused her of abetting his suicide. The septuagenarian had also accused her of financial misappropriations, following which the Bihar Police had pressed the demand for a probe by the ED.



Last week, an FIR was filed by the Patna Police against Chakraborty following a complaint lodged by Rajput's father, under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including abetment of suicide. A team of Bihar Police, led by Patna SP Vinay Tiwari, is in Mumbai to probe the case.

Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, after which Mumbai Police had registered a case and is investigating the matter.
