Mumbai: Among the key bulk deals on Monday, Government of Singapore lapped up shares of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co as private lender ICICI Bank trimmed its stake in the life insurer.
ICICI Bank said it has sold 1.5 per cent stake in its life insurance subsidiary for around Rs 840 crore with an aim to strengthen the balance sheet. Last week, the lender had informed exchanges about selling a little less than 4 per cent stake in its general insurance subsidiary for Rs 2,250 crore.
Among the frontline indices on Monday, Sensex rose 0.52 per cent, or 179.59 points to close at 34,911.32, while peer Nifty gained 0.65 per cent or 66.80 points to close at 10,311.20.

>> Government of Singapore bought 215,00,000 shares of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co at Rs 391.60 per share from ICICI Bank.
>> HSBC Pooled Asian Equity Fund sold 18,79,542 shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals at Rs 527.77 per share.
>> Edelweiss Mutual Fund bought 2,265,000 shares of Indostar Capital Finance at Rs 285 per share from Mission Street PTE.
>> IDBI Bank sold 53,353 shares of Galada Power Telecommunication at Rs 54 a share.
>> HT Media sold 3,20,662 shares of JHS Svendgaard Laboratories at Rs 14.40 per share.
>> Finquest Financial Solutions sold 1,000,000 shares in Birla Tyres at Rs 37 per share, while Minal Bharat Patel sold 715,000 shares in the company at Rs 37.21 each.
>> Companies such as Indiabulls Housing Finance, RBL Bank and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure also witnessed bulk deals in the day.
