    NSE-BSE bulk deals: Promoter Bandhan Financial sells nearly 21% in Bandhan Bank; Munich Re sells stake in Apollo Hospitals

    Mumbai: Among the key bulk deals on Monday, Bandhan Financial Holdings, the holding company of Bandhan Bank, has brought down its stake in the private lender to 40 per cent from around 61 per cent earlier. Many foreign portfolio investors such as Societe Generale, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse lapped up the same.

    As per the norms prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India, the Bandhan Bank promoter had to bring down the stake to 40 percent. Of the frontline indices, Sensex dropped 1.77 per cent or 667.29 points to close at 36,939.60 points, while Nifty shed 1.57 per cent or 173.60 points to close at 10.899.85 points.

    Here’s who bought and sold what in some of the key bulk and block deals of the day:
    >> Bandhan Financial Holdings sold 337.3 million shares of Bandhan Bank between Rs 313.15-313.22 to Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore, Camas Investments PTE, Bandhan Employees Welfare Trust, Marwadi Shares & Finance, Caldium Investment PTE, Copthall Maurtitus Investment, Societe Generale, Societe Generale (ODI) and Credit Suisse Singapore.

    At the end of June, Bandhan Financial Holdings held 60.95 per cent stake in the private lender.

    >> Munchener Ruckversicherungs-Gesellschaft Aktiengesellschaft In Munchen sold its entire 1.72 per cent stake or 2,397,380 shares in Apollo Hospitals at Rs 1,600.43 per share.
