Share market update: Auto shares down; Bharat Forge dips 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Friday's session.

Shares of Bharat Forge (down 2.75 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (down 1.84 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (down 1.31 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (down 1.25 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (down 1.21 per cent) , Exide Industries (down 1.15 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.04 per cent) , MRF (down 0.9 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (down 0.82 per cent) , Bosch (down 0.63 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.21 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.58 per cent down at 7044.55 around 02:03PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 57.20 points at 10756.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 182.21 points at 36555.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, SBI, PNB, Suzlon Energy, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Tata Power, SAIL and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
