Share market update: Bank shares dip; Yes Bank slumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Yes Bank (down 4.98 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 4.03 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.64 per cent), IDFC BANK (down 1.54 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 1.46 per cent), RBL BANK (down 1.37 per cent), Federal Bank (down 0.95 per cent), Axis Bank (down 0.75 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.38 per cent), State Bank of India (down 0.22 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.57 per cent down at 30505.2 around 09:53 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 73.75 points at 11972.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 235.82 points at 40819.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, TV18 Broadcast, SBI, Tata Motors, BHEL, SAIL, LIC Housing Fin and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
