Share market update: Bank shares slip; IndusInd Bank plunges 22%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Monday's session.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (down 21.85 per cent), Axis Bank (down 19.97 per cent), Federal Bank (down 18.9 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 14.33 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 14.12 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 13.28 per cent), RBLBANK (down 12.22 per cent), IDFC BANK (down 12.14 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 11.28 per cent), State Bank of India (down 10.34 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 9.74 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 3.29 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 13.33 per cent down at 17609.1 around 11:50 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 935.10 points at 7810.35 , while the BSE Sensex was down 3233.73 points at 26682.23.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 0 were trading in the green, while 50 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, ITC, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Tata Motors and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
