Share market update: BSE Telecom index up; HFCL skyrockets 13%

NEW DELHI: BSE Telecom index was trading with gains in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of HFCL Ltd (up 13.29 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 5.62 per cent), ITI (up 5.04 per cent), Tata Communications (up 5.0 per cent) and Tejas Network (up 4.93 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Reliance Communications (down 4.68 per cent), OnMobile Global (down 3.06 per cent) and Vindhya Telelinks (down 0.63 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 1302.72 around 01:39PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 89.55 points at 11303.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 264.2 points at 38304.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Alok Industries and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
