Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; GCPL rises 5%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading in the positive zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Godrej Consumer Products (up 5.58 per cent), Nestle India (up 2.38 per cent), Dabur India (up 2.32 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 2.31 per cent), ITC (up 2.05 per cent), United Spirits (up 1.19 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 1.01 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 1.0 per cent), Marico (up 0.89 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.85 per cent), Emami (up 0.57 per cent) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 0.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.53 per cent up at 29758.35 around 10:41 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 152.10 points at 11353.85 , while the BSE Sensex was up 545.72 points at 38843.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, GMR Infra, Ashok Leyland, SBI, Vedanta and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
