Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; United Breweries rises 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading higher in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of United Breweries (up 1.77 per cent), Emami (up 1.64 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 1.12 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 0.84 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 0.61 per cent), ITC (up 0.49 per cent), Dabur India (up 0.35 per cent), P & G Hygiene (up 0.27 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 0.19 per cent) and Nestle India (up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.33 per cent up at 31036.2 around 10:38 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 21.85 points at 12111, while the BSE Sensex was up 58.81 points at 41201.47.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Zee Ent., JSPL, ITC, SBI, SAIL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
