Share market update: IT shares in the red; HCL Tech falls nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the red in Friday's session.

Shares of Info Edge (India) (down 2.59 per cent) , HCL Technologies (down 1.63 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (down 1.42 per cent) , Infosys (down 1.23 per cent) , Just Dial (down 1.22 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down 1.14 per cent) , Wipro (down 0.75 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 1.22 per cent down at 13131.55 around 11:54AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 72.50 points at 9070.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 281.08 points at 30841.81.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, SAIL, Manappuram Fin, BEL, NBCC , SBI, Tata Motors, Tata Power and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
