Share market update: IT shares in the red; Infosys dips 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the red in Monday's session.

Shares of MPhasis (down 1.61 per cent) , Infosys (down 1.54 per cent) , Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.31 per cent) , Info Edge (India) (down 1.1 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down 0.81 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (down 0.22 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.8 per cent down at 17926.65 around 01:38PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 138.10 points at 10935.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 528.22 points at 37078.67.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Bandhan Bank Ltd., YES Bank, SBI, Ashok Leyland, BHEL, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
