Share market update: Media shares decline; Sun TV plunges 7%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Sun TV Network (down 7.38 per cent), Saregama India (down 5.82 per cent), Balaji Telefilms (down 3.16 per cent), Dish TV India (down 2.97 per cent), Inox Leisure (down 1.82 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 1.61 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 1.16 per cent), Zee Entertainment (down 0.57 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 0.17 per cent) and DB Corp (down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.63 per cent down at 1802.6 around 11:36 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 9.60 points at 12103.85 , while the BSE Sensex was down 20.04 points at 41237.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, LIC Housing Fin, SBI, SAIL, ONGC, Tata Motors, GAIL, Bharti Airtel and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
