Share market update: Metal shares shine; Welspun Corp climbs 5%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Welspun Corp (up 4.93 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 4.01 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (up 3.78 per cent) , VEDL (up 3.52 per cent) , Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 2.97 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (up 2.3 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 2.27 per cent) , Hindalco Industries (up 1.72 per cent) , NMDC Ltd (up 1.48 per cent) , Jindal Steel & Power (up 0.73 per cent) , JSW Steel (up 0.39 per cent) , MOIL (up 0.3 per cent) and APL Apollo Tubes (up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.75 per cent up at 1967.05 around 02:01PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 156.55 points at 9982.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 552.93 points at 33856.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Tata Power, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Motherson Sumi, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
