Share market update: OMCs trade in the red; HPCL dips 3%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading lower in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of HPCL (down​ 2.63 per cent)​, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (down​ 1.05 per cent)​, Reliance Industries (down​ 1 per cent)​, Indian Oil Corporation (down​ 0.89 per cent)​, Bharat Petroleum Corporation (down​ 0.68 per cent)​, Indraprastha Gas (down​ 0.16 per cent)​ and Castrol India (down​ 0.03 per cent)​ were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.7 per cent down at 13650.74 around 10:44 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 105.90 points at 11939.9 , while the BSE Sensex was down 331.89 points at 40723.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Chemicals, TV18 Broadcast, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, BHEL, Tata Steel and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
