- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Ayodhya on Monday (tomorrow) to take stock of preparations for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Ram Temple on August 5.
- Chief Minister was scheduled to visit Ayodhya today but it was cancelled due to the demise of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kamal Rani Varun who was receiving treatment for COVID-19.
- Earlier on July 25, CM Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya and said that COVID-19 protocols have to be followed while making sure that the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya is grand and one-of-a-kind.

Ayodhya railway station ready for makeover with Rs 104.77 crore
- As the preparations are in full swing for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Ram Temple on August 5, the work for Ayodhya railway station's makeover, with modern facilities, is also underway.
- This overhaul of the station assumes significance as the construction of the temple is expected to complete by 2023-24. After the temple's construction, Ayodhya is likely to attract devotees and tourists from across the world.
Assam flood situation improving, affected tally dips to 9 lakh
- Assam's flood situation has significantly improved in the past ten days, with the number of affected people declining by over two-thirds to nine lakh as on Sunday against 28 lakh on July 24, officials said.
- The respite in the monsoon rains since July 24 lay behind the improvement in the flood situation in Assam and other northeastern states, India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said.
- Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) officials said that nine lakh people in 1,087 villages continue to be distressed, though the number has dropped since July 24 when over 28 lakh people in 2,543 villages of 26 districts were affected.
Sushant Singh death: Mumbai police commissioner briefs Maha CM
- Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Sunday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray here and apprised him about the ongoing investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
- Rajput, 34, was found hanging in his home in Bandra on June 14 and the case is being probed by Mumbai police as well as Bihar police, after the late actor's kin filed a case in Patna.
Bengal's unemployment rate sees marginal spike in July: CMIE
- Despite relaxations in lockdown curbs, West Bengal's unemployment rate in July has increased marginally to 6.8 per cent, according to a report released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).
- The state's unemployment rate was at 6.5 per cent in June, it said.
Gyms to open in Noida from August 5
- A day after the authorities in Gautam Buddh Nagar announced that gyms would remain closed in the district, it issued a clarification on Sunday that these would be allowed to open from August 5.
- Earlier, the Noida Police had said that all cinema hall, gyms, swimming pools, amusement parks would remain closed till August 31.

- President Donald Trump will take action shortly on Chinese software companies that are feeding data directly to the Beijing government, posing a risk to U.S. national security, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Sunday.
- "President Trump has said 'enough' and we're going to fix it and so he will take action in the coming days with respect to a broad array of national security risks that are presented by software connected to the Chinese Communist Party," Pompeo said on Fox News Channel's "Sunday Morning Futures."

NGT panel recommends reworking 1994 water pact to revive Yamuna
- The National Green Tribunal-appointed Yamuna Monitoring Committee has recommended revisiting the 1994 water sharing agreement between Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi to ensure environmental flow in the river throughout the year.
- The two-member panel, comprising retired NGT expert member B S Sajawan and former Delhi Chief Secretary Shailaja Chandra, made the recommendation on the basis of a draft report on "E-flow for the Delhi stretch of the river".
Lowest single-day COVID deaths in Delhi since July 1
- Delhi registered 15 deaths due to the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the lowest number of fatalities in a single-day since July 1.
- The number of coronavirus cases in Delhi rose to 1,37,677, while the death toll mounted to 4,004 on Sunday.
- On July 26, there were 21 deaths due to the pathogen, the previous lowest fatality count since July 1.
Fadnavis wishes Amit Shah, TN governor speedy COVID recovery
- Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday wished speedy recovery to Union home minister Amit Shah and Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit who have tested positive for coronavirus.
- "The entire nation's good wishes are with you," the former Maharashtra chief minister said responding to Shah's tweet that he has tested positive for the infection and is getting admitted to a hospital on the advice of doctors.
Heavy rainfall expected tomorrow in several districts of Kerala
- India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert for several districts in Kerala, saying that very heavy rainfall is expected tomorrow in Idukki, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargod districts.
- "Orange alert issued for tomorrow in Idukki, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod districts with the prediction of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall," said IMD, Kerala.

UP minister Kamal Rani Verma dies of COVID-19
- Uttar Pradesh Minister Kamal Rani Varun died of COVID-19 at a hospital here on Sunday, the first minister in the state to succumb to the disease. She was 62.
- The Technical Education minister, who tested positive for COVID-19 on July 18 and was the only woman cabinet minister in the state, breathed her last at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPIMS).
- She had comorbidities, including diabetes, hypertension and hyperthyroidism, a senior doctor at the hospital said.
