RSS Army School to begin session in April

New Delhi: Rajju Bhaiya Sainik Vidya Mandir (RBSVM), the firstof-its-kind RSS school, is set to begin its first session in April.
With the school building almost ready, the school has invited applications for the first batch of 160 students for Class VI. RBSVM will be a complete residential school.

“We will prepare students for NDA, Naval Academy and 10+2 technical examination of the Indian Army,” RBSVM director Colonel Shiv Pratap Singh told ET.

In July, ET had reported that RSS was setting up its first Army school in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh which would be named after former RSS chief Rajendra Singh, alias Rajju Bhaiya.

“Registration will continue till February 23. Entrance test, which will happen on March 1, will examine students’ abilities in reasoning, general knowledge, Mathematics and English. After the written examination, there will be a written interview and then a medical test. We will start the session from April 6,” Singh said.

Eight seats will be reserved for the children of personnel killed in battle. The wards of the martyrs will also get some age relaxation. There would be no other reservation in the school and it would follow the CBSE pattern.

The school has initiated the process of hiring teachers and administrative staff and it would be completed by February-end. The principal of the school would be provided by RSS’ educational wing Vidya Bharati.

Both students and teachers will have uniforms — light-blue shirt and dark-blue trouser for students; grey-coloured trouser and white shirt for teachers.

The school is planning an opening ceremony, which is likely to see the participation of senior RSS leaders and BJP leaders and ministers. “All these things are in the planning stage and names will be decided soon. Right now, the focus is on selecting the first batch of students,” Vidya Bharati regional convenor Ajay Goyal.
