Specify from where to where Chinese Army withdrew: Congress

    Synopsis

P Chidambaram asked on Twitter: “Will someone tell us the place from which the Chinese troops disengaged and the place in which they are now. Did any troops — Chinese or Indian — move from one side of the LAC to the other?”. He said the answering of the two questions is necessary “because the Indian people are on a ‘Treasure Hunt’ to find out what happened on June 15 and where”.

New Delhi: As official sources claimed “successful” disengagement of India-China forces from some faceoff points, Congress has asked whether the government would specify the places from where the Chinese troops have moved back and have positioned themselves now. It also wanted to know whether any troop actually moved from one side of the LAC to another.
Welcoming the disengagement and pull back by Chinese troops, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram asked on Twitter: “Will someone tell us the place from which the Chinese troops disengaged and the place in which they are now. Did any troops — Chinese or Indian — move from one side of the LAC to the other?”. He said the answering of the two questions is necessary “because the Indian people are on a ‘Treasure Hunt’ to find out what happened on June 15 and where”.

The AICC, meanwhile, taunted PM Modi by recycling an old tweet by him (@narendramodi_in) –– when he was the CM of Gujarat –– in which he had questioned the logic of the Indian forces too withdrawing during a disengagement then: “China withdraws its forces but I wonder why Indian forces are withdrawing from Indian territory. Why did we retreat”.

Referring to the Indian and Chinese troops pulling back now, the Congress said “Modi must now answer Modi” and, party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi asked: “Why did Modi speak one language as CM and another as PM?”
