    2020 KPMG Ideation Challenge (KPMGIC): A student challenge like no other

    The KPMG Ideation Challenge (KIC) (formerly known as KPMG Innovation and Collaboration Challenge (KICC)) is one of the largest global business case study competitions organised by KPMG- a professional services firm.

    In order to bring fresh ideas to the fore, its annual event, intends to challenge participating teams and provide them with an experience to stretch their limits with what they think is possible! This year KPMGIC would be challenging participants to come up with innovative solutions that use the latest advanced analytical technologies to improve efficiencies and enable a business to achieve more in less time.

    This initiative is an opportunity for students to exhibit their ideas on a global platform. The participants are provided real world business scenarios to analyze and make recommendations to a panel of experienced KPMG professionals. This has brought some refined talent to the forefront and has helped the world discover visionaries from the STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and business fields.

    Breathing life into an idea
    The participating teams will get to generate a new idea that could change the world, create a prototype and then pitch it to business leaders. Along the way they'll work with KPMG data scientists, coders, business specialists and tech gurus, who will help bring their idea to life.

    If successful, teams get the opportunity to take on teams from the rest of the world and win seed funding to take their idea to market. The last two editions of KPMGIC were designed to stretch participants’ imagination, challenging their creative limits. Arun M. Kumar, Chairman and CEO, KPMG in India, sharing insights on the potential of KPMGIC said, “We are proud to see so many future business leaders participating in the KPMG Ideation Challenge 2020.     What does it take?
    Over 6,000 students from around 75 prominent campuses in India expressed interest for participating in KPMGIC this year. During the competition in India, KPMG professionals identified more than 600 high potential ideas. After the semi-finals, experienced KPMG professionals selected nine teams for the India national finals.

    This year, the challenge seeks to scout for the most innovative ideas that can help KPMG master their business requirements of database operations.

    Unmesh Pawar– Head of People, Performance and Culture, KPMG in India, further elaborated on the challenge saying, “The KPMG Ideation Challenge is testimony to the fact that every now and then a young mind is stretched by a new thought, and it never shrinks back to its former dimensions. We are keen on nurturing the future idea crusaders lay the foundation stone today, for a better tomorrow.”

    The firm also expects to make pre-placement offers to those who qualify its evaluation process.

    The winner takes it all
    Selection of ‘Team India’ to represent the country in the global finale will be taking place in Delhi on 15 February 2020. The winner gets an opportunity to fly to Seoul, South Korea and compete with the other teams at the global finals.
