9-year-old girl molested in Nikol area of Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A 9-year-old, resident of Nikol and studying in class IV was allegedly molested by a man named Mukesh Padhiyaar of Singarva on Wednesday afternoon.
Nikol police has registered an offence under section 363, 323,376 (a-b), 506(1) and sections of POCSO. Police officials said they arrested Padhiyaar, 35 who is also married and father of 2 children.
According to FIR lodged by the girl’s 35-year-old mother, on Wednesday when the girl was playing outside her house, Mukesh lured him by saying that he would buy him a chocolate.“He took the girl to an isolated place at Singarva and molested the girl and touched her inappropriately. However, when the girl started yelling for help, Padhiyaar left her alone and fled away” said a police official.
On the other side as the girl went missing her parents started searching for her. “They found the girl at about 3 pm sitting in a corner and crying. When they asked the girl the reason behind crying, she told her mother that Padhiyaar had taken to an isolated place and molested her” a police official said.
Police sources said as the girl’s family was in touch with Padhiyaar, they gave them his address. “We have arrested the accused” added a Assistant Commissioner of Police, I Division NL Desai.
