Gujarat CM inaugurates three model schools for girls, five boys' hostels

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Monday remotely inaugurated newly built three 'Aadarsh Residential Girls’ Schools’ and five ‘Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Kumar (Boys) Hostels’ with latest facilities, built by social justice and empowerment department at a cost of Rs 61.75 crore.
The three girls schools are located in Vadodara district, at Bakrol in Anand and at Jalalpor in Navsari while the boy hostels are located at Gandhinagar, Bakrol, Bhavnagar and Mahuva.


Speaking on the occasion, he said that education is a prerequisite for the upliftment of the children of an oppressed and suppressed man living in the last mile, and create equal opportunity for them to be able to face global challenges.
The chief minister said that his government is implementing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for 'sabka sath, sabka vikas', creating a society based on social equanimity, forgetting high-low, caste-clan, linguistic and provincial differences – foiling the attempt of elements who are opposed to development of Gujarat.
He said the state government is providing quality of education and hostel facilities for girl students as well as boys of the backward sections of the society to bring them at par with well-off as per the wishes of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s call to educate them and organise them. The state government is building Samras Hostels to provide nutritious food, maintaining cleanliness.

Rupani said the government is providing scholarship, free stay and subsidised food during difficult times like the current pandemic.
He said the government’s commitment and intensive measures to combat and control the virus has resulted in a 70 per cent recovery rate and the death rate 4.7 per cent.
Social justice and empowerment minister Ishwarbhai Parmar said the state government has undertaken several steps for the upliftment of children of scheduled castes and tribes, backward and developing castes, including encouragement and assistance for their higher studies in subjects like pilot training and study abroad.
Minister of State (Mos) Vasanbhai Ahir also joined the ceremony. Others present at Gandhinagar included chief minister’s principal secretary M.K. Das, principal secretary for social justice and empowerment Manoj Agrawal.
