AHMEDABAD: Love can conquer any odds. This was proved in the case of an Amdavadi woman whose love for her husband coincidentally saved her husband from China from the corona virus outbreak.
Pallavi Gautam, 38, from Chandkheda was interpreter to Ma Hai Guo, 30, from Nan Chong city in Sichuan province in China. The interpretation turned into love and they married according to Buddhist rituals in December 2016.

During the marriage, the couple promised to stand by each other in any difficult time and they stood by their promise.
Pallavi, who is now known as Ma Pallavi Hai Guo, says, “After our marriage, we did not spend quality time together. So I had asked my husband to come to India for a long break so that we can live together. He followed my advice and came here on January 29, which was the same time when corona virus outbreak came to fore in China.”
Pallavi said Ma Hai Guo works at a cellphone manufacturing firm, and was chosen by her as he is not like any typical Indian husband who feels ashamed in doing household chores.
“He can cook, clean house and do any work which is not usually done by the Indian husband. This was one of the reasons for selecting him as my life partner,” she said.
The couple has a two-year-old daughter Ma An Ji, which means ‘peaceful’ in Chinese. Pallavi says that her husband will stay in India for at least six months and the couple will then decide their further plans of settling either in India or in China later.
