Pratapgarh twin sisters suicide case: Man held for hiding facts
ALLAHABAD: Pratapgarh police in UP arrested a youth in connection with the twin girls’ suicide case on Tuesday.
Suresh (30), a resident of Lalganj, was arrested after police added Section 306 of the IPC (abetment of suicide) against him in the FIR lodged at Lalganj police station.
The police had earlier lodged a case under Section 363 of the IPC against unidentified persons when two minor girls had disappeared in mysterious circumstances from their village on December 2.

On December 3, bodies of two girls - Anjali (14) and Shivani (16) - were recovered flaoting from Sai river near Ghuisarnath Dham under Sangipur police station in Pratapgarh district.
Although drowning was the reason behind their death in the post-mortem, the police continued their investigations and found that it was Suresh, (owner of the mobile shop), who had provided two separate mobile numbers to girls to have conversations with their ‘bua’ (aunt) and father.
SP (Pratapgrah) Abhishek Singh said: “We have arrested the mobile shop owner on charges of concealing facts during investigations.”

He said that Suresh was well acquainted with the both the girls and their family members but he did not reveal this fact to police when he was interrogated by cops during investigation.
Secondly, Suresh also concealed the fact that girls while talking to their bua said that ‘she (bua) would not be able to see the girls again’. The girls had a conversation with their aunt in front of Suresh but he hid this fact to police during investigation.
Singh added: “Had the mobile shop owner be more vigilant and attentive, both girls would have been alive.”
Police said the girls had called up their ‘bua’ (aunt) informing that they were at Belhadevi and asked to arrange a pick-up for them. The mobile shop owner had arranged a second number for girls to have conversation with their father.
Police said Suresh could easily understand the mental ability and circumstances of both the girls when they were talking to their aunt and asking her that she would not be able to see them again.
