'VHP aims to eradicate conversion menace by 2024'
ALLAHABAD: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) central secretary Sudhanshu Patnaik on Monday said that organisation would increase its activities in 31 conversion-prone pockets falling under the Kashi prant and aims to eradicate the conversion menace by the end of 2024.
While holding the concluding meet of dharam prasar vibhag at the 'Kshetriya Chintan Shivir' at the VHP campus on Monday, Patnayik said “the organisation would be increasing its activities in conversion-prone pockets so that Hindus should not be trapped in greed’s (pralobhan) and would be engaging saints, seers, katha-tellers and employment mode to reach out among target people."
The 'Dharam Prasar' department of VHP claimed to have identified as many as 31 spots in Kashi prant where conversion is frequent.

The list includes Ghorawal, Chopan, Nagwa, Kone, Chatra Renkoot (Sonbharda district), Babhani, Myorpur, and Duddi (Renkoot), Sadar, Hallia, Lalganj, Madihan and Sikhand (Mirzapur), Naugarh (Chandauli), Rajarshi, Shivpur, Mandvarshi, Ganga (Kashi Mahanagar), Badagav, Harhua, Pindara (Kashi gramin), Shankargrh, Nari Bari, Meja, Koroan, (Trans Yamuna –Allahabad), Kaurihar, (Trans Ganga), Kada Dham (Kaushambi) , Musafirkhana (Amethi), Sarkoni, and Kerakat (Jaunpur) and Barsathi (Machlisahar).
Patnayik, meanwhile, said, “To eradicate the conversion menace, we would have to focus on unity among Hindu community and make sincere efforts to end evils like casteism and untouchability prevailing in the society.”
Over 100 office-bearers of Eastern UP (Kashi prant) attended the workshop concluding day. They have been asked to make their reach out to every house in identified pockets and connecting more and more people and tell them about HIndu religion and indian culture.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday visited the VHP camp and recalled about his old days that he had spent as an organisational secretary. He also viewed the VHP’s model for proposed Ram Temple at the camp.
Maurya also assured saints and seers that he would be taking their message to union government to build the temple on VHP’s model and include saints and seers into the trust who had fought for the temple.
