Woman found murdered, hubby accuses neighbour in Uttar Pradesh

A 40-year-old woman, identified as Rekha Devi was found murdered at Poorebabu village under the Kandhai police station of Pratapgarh district on Friday morning. Her body was found near a field with deep injuries on neck.

ALLAHABAD: A 40-year-old woman, identified as Rekha Devi was found murdered at Poorebabu village under the Kandhai police station of Pratapgarh district on Friday morning. Her body was found near a field with deep injuries on neck.
The woman reportedly left for fields on Thursday midnight. SP (Pratapgarh) Abhishek Singh said that police have launched investigation and the body has been sent for autopsy.
“Local police were alerted about recovery of a woman’s body at a field outside Poorebabu village at around 7am. The woman was identified as Rekha Devi, wife of Ram Asre Patel,” said the SP.
The couple went to sleep after dinner on Thursday night but later Rekha was found missing on Friday morning, said the police.
Rekha’s husband, in FIR lodged with Kandhai police station, has accused his neighbour Prem Chandra Patel of killing his wife. Motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, said the police.
