ALLAHABAD: 22-year-old youth was beaten to death by a group of five for allegedly creating ruckus during nuisance in Ajwaiya village, under Industrial Area police station, late Thursday night.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as Shanktiman Kol alias Baba and was a resident of Ajwaiya village.
Kol was allegedly creating nuisance and shouting near the stage of the wedding venue.

SSP (Allahabad) Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj said a case has been registered against five accused, who are currently on the run.
Police said the two criminal cases were pending against the victim.
Police said a ‘baraat’ from Deeha village had arrived at the residence of one Jai Singh on Thursday night, where her daughter’s wedding was to be solemnized. After the ‘jaimal’ ceremony, Kol started creating nuisance near the stage. When people tried to get him to calm down, he did not listen to anyone.

We are waiting for the postmortem report to find out if the youth was in an inebriated state or not.”
A group of five guests present at the wedding allegedly thrashed him with sticks. Kol was rushed to hospital, but he succumbed on the way.
