BENGALURU: A 25-year-old food delivery boy has been booked by Bandepalya police for allegedly killing a puppy in HSR Layout Sector II.
According to Bandepalya police, the incident took place around 8pm on November 27 when Teja, working for an online food delivery app, was at Colieve Hudson apartment in HSR Layout, delivering food to a resident. As he came out of the apartment on his scooter, the stray dogs started barking at him.
He stopped his vehicle and picked up a wooden log lying on the ground and chased the dogs. All the doga fled, but he managed to corner a puppy that was trying to take a cover inside a gutter and bludgeoned it to death.
Harish K B from Jeevajyothi Foundation, who came to know about the incident, filed a complaint with the Bandepalya police. Police have registered a case under IPC 428 (Mischief by killing or maiming animal).
Speaking to TOI Harish said, “Residents routinely feed street dogs. On the day of the incident, one of the residents had just fed the dog and had gone inside to get some water. By the time she returned, Teja had killed the dog and sped away.”
