BENGALURU: Nikhil, actor and son of former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, tied the knot with Revathi in a low-key event held at a farm house in Ketaganahalli, near Bidadi about 40km from Bengaluru on Friday. The wedding was limited to less than 100 people and it was conducted in the presence of family members and close relatives.
Nikhil, an actor-turned-politician, had unsuccessfully contested the Mandya Lok Sabha polls in 2019.
Revathi is the grand-niece of Congress leader and realtor M Krishnappa.
The pre-wedding rituals commenced last evening at the couple's residences, respectively in Bengaluru. The muhurtham of Nikhil and Revathi was held at 9.30am on Friday followed by lunch for the guests.
Former PM HD Deve Gowda and Nikhil's uncle and former minister HD Revanna and close family members from both the sides attended the wedding. The wedding was performed as per the Vokkaliga's customs.
However, the media were not allowed near the farm house for the coverage.
Initially, Kumaraswamy wanted to have a grand wedding at Ramanagara district and he had even started preparations. Since the country is under lockdown due to Covid-19 outbreak, he decided to hold in Bengaluru. The venue was again changed after Bengauluru city was declared Covid 19 hotspot.
