BENGALURU: State Director General and Inspector General of Police, Praveen Sood, issued a circular saying period spent by police officials during treatment for Covid-19 or quarantine (Institutional and home) will be treated as working hours.
A senior police officer said recently, in some cases, Superintendent of Police from districts had asked the staff-under quarantine, to apply for leave for the period.
In other cases, SPs and other senior police officers had accepted that the time spent in quarantine was treated as working hours.
Now, with circular from the top cop of the state, it is clear that period spent by both-those under treatment and under quarantine are treated as working hours.
Till Tuesday, as may as 50 cops, most of the constables and head constables, are tested positive for Covid-19.
