BENGALURU: Nikhil, son of former chief minister and JD(S) leader
HD Kumaraswamy, was briefly lambasted on social media by his own partymen on Sunday for being an “absentee” politician.
In Tweets and Facebook posts, which were deleted within hours of them being uploaded, partymen hit out at Nikhil saying he is not “fit” to be president of the JD(S) youth wing. The posts said Nikhil is only interested in his film shoots and is not keen on strengthening the party.
Nikhil and his father were in London for four days on a location hunting exercise for his next movie.
After losing the Lok Sabha election from Mandya constituency, Nikhil was anointed JD(S) youth wing president as a “consolation”. However, barring a brief visit to Mandya on the day of his appointment, the 29-year-old actor has not ventured anywhere in the state, party workers say.
