Seven confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in Karnataka on Monday, taking the total number to 33, the State Health department said.

BENGALURU: Seven fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported on Monday in Karnataka taking the total number of those infected in the state to 33. One of the seven fresh patients is a 30-year-old woman. Five of them are from Bengaluru, while the other two are from Kerala.
While six had a travel history to Covid-19 affected countries, the woman from Bengaluru was infected by her husband, who had travelled to one of the affected countries and had tested positive for the virus.
The woman’s case is the second instance of a wife catching the infection from husband.
The four fresh Bengaluru cases include a 38-year-old man who came from Dubai on March 17, a 41-year-old who returned from London on March 13, a 24-year-old man who had travelled to the UK and Dubai and returned on March 18 and a 60-year-old man who came from Germany on March 17.
Two from Kerala
Of the two Kerala patients, a 46-year-old man was admitted to a hospital in Mysuru and another, a 22-year-old man, is in a Bengaluru hospital. The elder of the duo had recently gone to Dubai and arrived in Bengaluru on March 22. He was travelling to Kerala on Sunday via Mysuru when he developed symptoms and was admitted to an isolation hospital. Through contact tracing, three high-risk primary contacts and four secondary contacts were found. They are all in home isolation.

The younger man, who is from Kannur, travelled from Dubai to Bengaluru on March 22. He is currently being treated in a hospital in Bengaluru.
GoK raises alert
The state government has issued an alert to trace contacts of a 54-year-old Covid-19 patient from Kasaragod in Kerala. “He landed at Mangaluru International Airport on March 10 by an Air India Express flight. From there, he travelled in his own vehicle to Kasaragod. He had coffee near Kasaragod and reached home at 7.30pm. On March 11, he visited a local fish market and returned home at 10pm. He consulted a doctor in Kasaragod on March 18 and later visited Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Attavar at 3pm. He had tea at KMC canteen and travelled in an autorickshaw to Medicity where he bought medicines and returned to Kasaragod by KSRTC bus,” reads the government bulletin.
It further said the man again travelled to Mangaluru on March 20, in a private vehicle and visited the doctor and returned to Kasargod in a private vehicle.
The government has requested passengers who travelled in the specific flight/ aircraft, and KSRTC bus to self-report by dialing 104 or 080-46848600 or 080-6662000.
