An exhibition of Odia film magazine covers was inaugurated today at the Odisha State Archives. The exhibition, called Chhayalipi, showcases as many as 75 film magazines that were or have been published in Odisha and covered news related to Odia cinema.

The Film Journalist Forum (FJF) has arranged the magazines while the state archive and Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department has organised the exhibition that will continue for a week along with the celebration of Archives week.
Scholar Suryo Deo, who has arranged the magazines said that the collection of magazines is from 1951 to the latest being from 2017. “We have tried to exhibit around 98 percent of Odia film magazines here. With the advancement of social media, the charm of film magazines will go away. Before this happens, it’s an attempt to pay our respect to Odia cinema and film journalism here,” said Deo.
The magazine covers have been framed and hung in the exhibition hall of the state archives. The exhibition will continue till Monday.
