PANCHKULA: The crime investigation agency-I (CIA-I) Panchkula on Tuesday arrested a person from Ludhiana in relation with the Pinjore firing incident.
According to the information given by the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Kamaldeep Goyal, the accused has been identified as Manjit Singh alias Manna, a resident of Ludhiana, from where the team of CIA-I nabbed him.

DCP Goyal said that Pankaj Verma, whose car was used in the crime, had been arrested by them. During police interrogation, Pankaj informed them about the involvement of Gagan, Dimple, Manpreet alias Manna and Vikram alias Vicky in the incident.
The DCP added that Pankaj met the other accused through Facebook and on December 22, he went to meet Vikram in Moga. Later the same day, all of them gathered at an apartment in Kharar. On December 23, all of them did a recce of a scrap dealer's office in Pinjore and on December 24, they committed a robbery at the scrap dealer's office at gunpoint, the accused informed the cops.
On December 24, the SHO, along with the police party and PCR, started hunting the car and spotted it on the road and chased it after they received the complaint of a gun-point robbery from a scrap dealer in Maddawala village in Pinjore. The miscreants, upon learning that they were being chased by the police, attempted to flee, but one of the wheels of the car got stuck in a pothole.
The armed men disembarked from the car and started firing at the police. The cops retaliated, but the accused managed to flee from the spot.
On December 26, the accused again came in a Maruti Ciaz car bearing a Delhi registration number and fired multiple rounds outside the businessman's office and threatened him and his family against moving a complaint with the police.
Around 50 police officials, armed with guns and four special purpose vehicles, had been deployed at strategic locations across the Pinjore town.
