Covid-19: Death toll crosses 200 in Faridabad; 2,488 cases and 23 deaths in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: The Covid-19 death count in Faridabad’s crossed 200 mark on Friday. Ten out of 22 districts in Haryana reported more than 100 cases as 2,488 new Covid cases and 23 deaths took the state's virus count to 10,6261.
As many as 2,188 patients were discharged from the hospitals which took the overall recoveries to 83,878 with the recovery rate slightly going up to 78.94%.
Currently, there are 21,291 patients out of whom 379 are critical who are on oxygen as well as ventilator support.
Gurugram recorded the highest 339 cases and three deaths. With the active cases rising to 2,754, the overall count of the city has gone up to 17,077 cases and 156 deaths. Faridabad recorded the second highest 287 cases and two deaths. Here the overall count has gone up to 17,270 with 201 deaths and there are 1,824 active patients. Sonipat emerged as another hotspot with 171 new cases followed 167 cases and two deaths in Hisar district. Panchkula reported 157 new cases and three deaths followed by 140 cases and two deaths in Ambala.
Rohtak reported 139 cases and one death followed by 131 cases and two deaths in Kurukshetra district, Karnal reported 129 new patients and one death followed by Sirsa 121 cases and two deaths.
Yamunanagar reported 96 cases and two deaths followed by 89 cases of Panipat, and 76 cases of Mahendergarh and Jind districts. Palwal reported 74 cases followed by 70 cases in Rewari and 58 cases in Kaithal.
Jhajjar and Bhiwani districts reported 54 cases and one death each followed 31 cases and one death in Fatehabad district. 16 cases have come from Charkhi Dadri followed by 13 in Nuh district. With the testing rate of 64,034 tests per million the over 16.23 lakh persons have been tested so far.
