KURUKSHETRA: In connection with a case of dacoity and snatching of Rs 50,000 from a Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh (HP) based driver at GT Road registered at Shahabad police station (PS) on July 31, the Haryana Police in Kurukshetra district have so far made arrests of three Ambala based gaurakshaks including Ajay Chawla of Lajpat Nagar, Tajinder ‘Sunny’ of Udaipur and Sagar of Jalbera Road.
The arrested accused recently wrote to director general of police (DGP), Haryana Manoj Kumar Yadava while raising dissatisfaction with Kurukshetra police investigation and demanded the case to be district to Ambala district.

Following the case is being shifted to Ambala on Saturday.
As per the information, on July 31, complainant Vishal Thakur of Sirmaur district had lodged a complaint at Shahabad PS alleging that on July 31 at about 4 am, when he and his friend Lalit were returning towards his state after unloading tomatoes at the vegetable market in Taraori of Karnal district, some unknown persons with blue beacon on top of a Gau Raksha Dal SUV chased and shot at their pick-up vehicle and snatched Rs 50,000 after assaulting them near Tyori village on GT Road.
Vishal is from a poor background living with his family in the rural area of Sirmaur district of HP, and his only livelihood is his pick-up vehicle which he drives himself.
Notably, Vishal had managed to note down the SUV registration number which helped the cops in tracing the accused.
Following, on August 1, the crime investigation agency (CIA)-II of Kurukshetra police arrested accused Ajay Chawla ‘Monu’ from Markanda Bridge after the team spotted the SUV used in the crime.

“The SUV was recovered from accused Ajay, who was arrested and presented in the court on August 1, which granted his three-day police remand for further investigation and recovery in this case”, told the investigating police officer (IO).
“Continuing the investigation on the basis of disclosures by Ajay, the house of second suspect Tajinder ‘Sunny’ was raided and due to continuous pressure by police, he surrendered before the police. Tajinder was arrested and presented in the court, which granted his two-day police remand and a stick used in crime, and Rs 2,000 were recovered from him. Tajinder was sent to judicial custody at district jail in Kurushetra as per court orders”, stated the IO.
“Investigating further, accused Sagar was identified and raids were conducted at his suspected location, following he too was handed over to the police by his family members on Friday. Accused Sagar was presented in the court, which sent him to judicial custody”, records the investigation.
Shahabad police station house officer (SHO) inspector Devender Kumar confirmed the development, he said, “After accused raised question on the investigation done by Kurukshetra police and demand that case be shifted to the next district, it has been shifted for investigation to the Ambala police. They wrote to DGP Haryana Manoj Kumar Yadava while demanding to transfer this case.”
Kurukshetra SP Astha Modi did not respond calls and text messages.
Ambala superintendent of police (SP) Abhishek Jorwal said, “So far, I do not have knowledge about shifting of this case and I would be in my official post.”
