MOHALI: Police arrested two persons for streaming a cricket match as part of the Uva T20 League in Badulla, a city in Sri Lanka while the actual game was played in Kharar. According to the police, the miscreants conducted the match here at a cricket academy in Sawara village of Kharar. "There were four teams and they claimed on the internet that the match is being conducted in Sri Lanka. They said four players of Sri Lanka are playing.
The final match was on July 5," said ASI Iqbal. He said no recoveries have been made yet.
The accused have been identified as Pankaj Kumar and Raju Kalia, residents of Peer Muchhala. DSP, Kharar, Pall Singh said, "They put up masks on people who were playing cricket and fooled people claiming that the Sri Lankan team was playing. Betting took place ."
