PANCHKULA: Shot in the chest and the abdomen, Barwala woman Surinder Kaur, 50, fights for her life in the PGI (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research), while the accused is in the Sector-6 civil hospital here.
Surinder Kaur took two bullets. Two months ago, accused Vijay Sharma’s wife had run away with Surinder’s 4-year-old son. The man had reached Surinder’s house in Barwala on Saturday and fired upon her during a heated argument.
Villagers thrashed him thereafter and, so he had to be hospitalized. Chandimandir station house officer (SHO) inspector Naveen Kumar said: “We wait for the woman and the alleged shooter to recover.”
Meanwhile, in the Barwala foreman murder case, a hunt for accused factory workers Shanti and Rajesh is still on. The cyber cell is trying to trace their mobile-phone location. The two men are accused of killing their foreman, Mohammad Mobin, 40, with a knife because had reported Shanti to the seniors for his harassing a woman at workplace.
The factory owner had asked Shanti for his resignation and police say that the latter was thirsting for revenge since. The workers became murder suspects when police found them missing from the factory, with their mobile phones switched off.
